GARAGE DOOR - IMPERIAL EQUIPMENT / METRIC CUTS

UNIT CONVENTION
Tools, screws, drill bits, hinges, material thicknesses and purchased stock
use imperial labels (inches, feet and U.S. hardware sizes). Cut lengths, cut
widths, notch depths and workshop layout marks use centimeters. Example:
2x4 lumber; cut F1 to 213.865 cm. Trim screw: GRK #8 x 1-1/2 in, T10 drive.
Model trim is 0.236 in thick; verify existing stock rather than substituting
exact 1/4 in. Internal CAD arithmetic remains in its original units.

This 27-page illustrated manual contains 12 numbered steps, a 3-page parts
catalog, joint details, checkpoints and six additional workshop pages. Catalog quantities cover BOTH doors;
step badges specify quantities per door when appropriate.

NEW WORKSHOP DETAILS — PAGES 21–26
21: identify the strips and make guided width / square end cuts.
22: independently fasten the plywood infill; cover the movement seam.
23: decorative trim screw layout, example screw and drilling / driving steps.
24: center cover screw path and fixing row on RIGHT only.
25: exact F1/F2 half-lap cut map.
26: handsaw / chisel method and dry-fit checks.
Separate printable vector PDFs and image diagrams are in workshop-details.
The decorative layout proposes 76 T1/T2 screws for both doors. Cover screws
are additional. These counts are not the frame, skin or hinge schedule.

QUICK VIEW
assembly-manual/output/garage-door-assembly-overview-cm.png summarizes six phases.
The full PDF controls the sequence and details.

3D COMPANION
Open viewer/garage-door-execution-3d.html in a web browser for the existing
self-contained V4 interactive model: parts, layers, connections, construction
stages and opening controls. The viewer defaults to inches for inspection; its workshop cut reference
uses cm. Stock and hardware labels are imperial. The parts CSV separates
imperial stock descriptions from exact metric cuts. Some mobile file-preview apps may require opening
the HTML in a browser. The viewer itself has no network dependencies.

CUT LIST AND DETAILS
parts-cm/deliverables/garage-door-parts-exact-cm.csv keeps exact model conversions.
assembly-manual/details contains separate vector PDF/SVG and PNG joint drawings.
The model dimensions are provisional until actual opening, stock, retained frame
and hardware are verified. Do not scale illustrations as full-size templates.

ASSEMBLY NOTES
Keep sound existing framing; half-lap cuts apply only to replacement members.
Fit hardware backing and access-dependent fasteners before closing skins.
Keep the plywood movement seam supported on the meeting stile.
Fit foam flush after allowing for adhesive bedding.
Center cover, spacer and gasket attach to the RIGHT active leaf only.
Right opens first. Left closes and bolts first; right closes last.
Record actual weight and confirm the complete hinge/jamb/fastener system before hanging.

SOURCE AND REGENERATION
Source scripts are under assembly-manual/source; illustration generators are in
assembly-manual/art, assembly-manual/details and workshop-details. Preserve the directory structure.
The manual build reads the included V4 CAD JSON and preceding cm parts catalog.
Manual generation uses Python (reportlab, pypdf, Pillow), DejaVu fonts and Poppler
pdftoppm. CAD illustration generation additionally uses NumPy; detail generation
uses its listed imports. The assembly edition does not change the model geometry.
Manufacturer links appear on the last PDF page. Product-specific fixing patterns,
cure times, protective coverings and gasket compression come from selected materials
and hardware. The manual does not specify a tested structural or hinge system.
